Over the next week, I will be releasing our first multi-part guide aimed at taking new players and turning them into winning players. This New Player Guide will be a shortcut to playing better poker.
Who Will This Help?
Unless you’re already playing professionally with a sick win rate, it’s likely to help anyone who wants to become a better player. I also like to get to the point rather than adding tons of filler content, so the entire 8 part guide can be read through in under one hour. Worse case scenario you spend some minutes refreshing on some beginning fundamentals. Best case you get that “Aha!” moment on a few key concepts.
In other words, if you are serious about playing poker in any regard, just read the damn thing!
How to Read
I will be releasing one article per day over the next 8 days. The articles in the guide are meant to be read in order, so I suggest you start at the beginning. The guide will be released and remain free forever and ever.
However, if you would like instant access to all 8 articles without waiting, you can fill out our subscription form and you will be sent the entire guide in haste. By subscribing, you will be notified of large updates and news, but we won’t spam you.
So without further ado, you can read the guide below!
New Player Guide: A Shortcut to Playing Better Poker
Remember, we are releasing this guide one article per day over one week, so if the link isn’t yet available check back later, or subscribe to receive the full guide right away!
Put the Guide to Work!
I sincerely hope this guide gives many players a base to start winning at poker. But remember, the most important aspect of becoming successful at anything is consistent practice, so never stop playing! You can read all the guides you want, but the knowledge means nothing if you don’t put it to practice.
If you haven’t yet done so, you can see all of the online poker rooms we promote. All of these rooms offer a new player bonus, which is a reward for trying out their poker room. The rooms we promote are sorted objectively, using the Ace Formula, based on this bonus. This way you know you’re getting the best value!
Choose the best bonus for you, and get started on your poker journey. You don’t need thousands of dollars to become successful, start with a small $50 or $100 deposit and give it a shot.
Questions, Comments, Feedback?

Best of luck!
Pretty solid guide. Would like more details on hand selection in general. The one article is okay but I still get tripped up on when to call vs raise vs re-raise and the like. I get the whole concept of raising more hands closer to the button but am not sure how much I should increase my raising range each spot closer. Thanks for the guide!
Thanks for the feedback! Each section of this guide could certainly be expanded on, which I plan on doing over time. I definitely agree that hand selection and which action to take is one of the most important aspects of a hand. There isn’t a set number of how much you should widen your range as you move closer to the button, and table dynamics need to be considered. I’ve played at tables where my UTG range was wide and my CO range was tight.
